Inktica is a robust and user-friendly pixel art editor that caters to both amateur and seasoned digital artists. This tool enables users to create artwork reminiscent of the low-resolution graphics typical of early computers and game consoles, as well as to edit textures for games.

The software is equipped with a suite of powerful tools designed specifically for pixel-level image editing. Essential features include a Brush, Eraser, Flood-fill, Gradient, Line, Rectangle, Ellipse, and Pipette. Notably, the brush offers a "pixel perfect" algorithm which allows users to draw precise single-pixel-wide lines.

Inktica's selection tool enhances workflow by allowing users to copy, cut, move, and paste sections of their artwork. Selections can also be rotated or flipped prior to insertion, adding versatility to the editing process.

Layer support is another significant feature, enabling artists to organize their pixel art effectively and simplifying the task of editing specific components within a complex piece.

Furthermore, Inktica includes animation tools that breathe life into sprites. The onion skinning feature allows for an easy comparison between the current frame and the preceding one during animation creation.

The software provides access to color palettes derived from iconic classic consoles such as the Atari 2600, NES, and Game Boy. Users also have the option to import vibrant color palettes from Lospec.

A reference image can be imported from the gallery for quick comparisons while drawing, aiding accuracy and inspiration.

Once a project is complete, Inktica facilitates sharing on social media or exporting images directly to device storage. The export functionality allows for upscaling images to maintain clarity when viewed outside of pixel art contexts.

Additionally, Inktica supports importing pixel art created with other applications. It handles Aseprite drawings (.ase, .aseprite) and various popular image formats (.png, .jpeg, .gif), making it a versatile choice for artists transitioning between platforms.
